Artist's Comments

Having weathered the storm [link] , Dun checks the charts and gets his bearings again. The treasure is nearly in his grasp!

I really needed to draw a familiar subject before I continue on my secret project, just to get comfortable drawing again, it's been so long. I tried a little different method of shading this time. It's almost too soft maybe. A single soft candle for a light source on one side, and the harsh moon on the other made for a challenge. It was fun playing with the shadowing. I think the pose is a wee bit stiff too, but I'm not sure what to have done about that.

Edit - Added some fur texture to the fur. I'm not exactly sure I like how it turned out though.

Your work is starting to look less like a paper cut-out which is great. New images seem to have more deapth now. The map and table and such were well drawn, and I like the multiple light sources. Don't be affraid to add more lines and wrinkles to clothing. With so much detail being added lately, I think that would help your characters come to life even moreso.

I like the night scene. The light from the moon is easy to see appart from the candle's glow. Over all a good picture, and I think the feeling you were trying to put into it was successful.

Thanks for the nice comment! Ahh yes, clothes, that should be my next effort. You're right, they do have depth here, but still look like they're cardboard cutouts or something. Maybe Dun just likes to iron..a lot. I should have studied your latest Nynx's clothes for a good example, lol.

Heh, I like the expression on his face. Very concentrated. (Just one nose makes three faces!)

Thats the problem with the world today; intelligence is constant, and the populations increasing.

Thanks! He was supposed to look worried at first, but I twitched when I did his mouth, and I liked that little smile, so I changed the story to match it.
